Behind Our Vision:

CJ's Story

CJ, a vibrant and spirited eight-year-old, faced an unimaginable challenge when he was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2019. He was the embodiment of joy and energy, with a heart full of love for gaming, his cherished family and friends, and a passion for laughter and soccer.

His journey through cancer treatment was both courageous and daunting. CJ underwent a grueling 42 weeks of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation, facing each day with a resilience that was nothing short of heroic.

The summer of 2020 brought a brief, yet cherished, respite as CJ was declared cancer-free for two fleeting months. However, the shadow of cancer returned, necessitating a resurgence of chemotherapy and radiation, along with the placement of a tube. This new treatment phase, planned for about 240 days, was cut short due to fluid accumulating in his lungs. Miraculously, CJ once again reached a cancer-free state for another two months.

Tragically, in September 2021, we faced the heart-wrenching news that CJ's cancer had relapsed and was deemed incurable. Despite attempting another chemotherapy regimen, an allergic reaction thwarted these efforts. Our focus shifted to ensuring CJ's comfort and quality of life in the time he had left.

In mid-January 2022, a 3-hour MRI revealed that the cancer had spread to his bones. During this time, CJ endured immense pain, his days marked by increased rest and diminished appetite. On January 30, 2022, CJ's valiant fight came to an end, he was only 10 years old.

His journey, marked by bravery, love, and an unyielding spirit, leaves an indelible mark on our hearts.

CJ, in his all-too-brief time with us, taught us the true meaning of heroism.

He remains our FOREVER HERO, a beacon of strength and inspiration in our lives and in the lives of all who knew him.

Love you, Mean it.
